Publication Ethics Statement

Bulletin of Education and Language (BEL), published by Standout Press, is committed to publishing high-quality scholarly research in the fields of education, language and linguistics, psychology, social sciences, humanities, interdisciplinary studies, and related areas.

To ensure the integrity, transparency, and credibility of scholarly publishing, all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

The publication ethics and malpractice policies of BEL are guided by the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Authors’ Responsibilities

Authors submitting manuscripts to Bulletin of Education and Language are required to adhere to the following ethical standards:

  1. Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original works.
  2. Authors must confirm that the manuscript has not been previously published in any form.
  3. Authors must declare that the manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
  4. Authors are obliged to cooperate in issuing corrections or retractions if errors are identified.
  5. All listed authors must have made significant scholarly contributions to the research.
  6. Authors must ensure that all data presented are accurate, authentic, and verifiable.
  7. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest that may influence the research.
  8. Authors must properly acknowledge and cite all sources used in the manuscript.
  9. Authors must promptly inform the editors of any significant errors discovered after publication.
  10. Authors must participate constructively in the peer-review process.
  11. All funding sources and competing interests relevant to the research must be clearly disclosed.
  12. Other forms of support (e.g., article processing charge funding, language editing, or editorial assistance) must be clearly acknowledged.
  13. The corresponding author is responsible for submitting a conflict-of-interest declaration on behalf of all authors, including financial, professional, or institutional affiliations.

Editors’ Responsibilities

Editors of Bulletin of Education and Language are responsible for maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the journal:

  1. Editors have full authority to accept or reject manuscripts.
  2. Editors are accountable for the overall quality and scholarly content of the journal.
  3. Editors must consider the needs of authors and readers when making editorial decisions.
  4. Editors are responsible for safeguarding the integrity of the academic record.
  5. Editors must publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions when necessary.
  6. Editors must ensure transparency regarding research funding sources.
  7. Editorial decisions must be based solely on originality, academic merit, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  8. Editors should not reverse prior editorial decisions without serious and justified reasons.
  9. Editors must preserve the confidentiality and anonymity of peer reviewers.
  10. Editors must ensure that all published research complies with international ethical standards.
  11. Editors should accept manuscripts only when there is reasonable confidence in their academic validity.
  12. Editors must act on suspected misconduct, whether before or after publication, and pursue appropriate resolutions.
  13. Editors must not reject manuscripts based solely on suspicion without substantiated evidence.
  14. Editors must prevent conflicts of interest among authors, reviewers, editorial staff, and board members.

Reviewers’ Responsibilities

Peer reviewers contribute critically to maintaining the scholarly quality of BEL:

  1. Reviewers provide expert recommendations on the academic suitability of submitted manuscripts.
  2. Manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents.
  3. Reviews must be conducted objectively, fairly, and professionally.
  4. Reviewers should provide clear, constructive, and evidence-based feedback.
  5. Recommendations must be based solely on the manuscript’s scholarly merit and relevance.
  6. Reviewers should identify relevant literature that has not been cited.
  7. Reviewers must notify editors of any substantial similarity or overlap with published works.
  8. Reviewers must decline assignments where conflicts of interest exist.

As a research journal publisher, Standout Press works in collaboration with editors, reviewers, and authors to ensure transparency, quality, and fairness throughout the publication process.

Standout Press undertakes the following responsibilities:

  1. To ensure that all manuscripts undergo fair, independent, and rigorous peer review in accordance with internationally accepted scholarly standards.
  2. To support editorial independence and guarantee academic freedom for editors and reviewers in editorial decision-making.
